Competitions are a good way to get the interest of the youth and to help them excel in whatever they do. The Chief Minister’s E-Champion Challenge is part of the government’s drive to promote and give recognition to the entrepreneurs of the State and create ecosystem for entrepreneurship culture in Meghalaya. Many more such programmes will come up in future to ensure the growth of entrepreneurship in state

Conrad K. Sangma
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya

Our goal is to create an ecosystem where people with workable ideas can walk into an enterprise facilitation center or an incubator and get all the handholding support needed to navigate the complex web of markets, technology and credit. The CMs E-Champion Challenge is the first step in systematically choosing the first batch of E-champs, who will be the vanguard for the enterprise ecosystem development. This challenge will now be a regular event and more E-champs will be selected and nurtured in the years to come

Dr. Vijay Kumar D
Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Planning, Finance, Tourism, Sports and Youth Affairs

This is a very new initiative in the state and despite the challenges, the potential entrepreneurs must make full use of this opportunity. For the first time in Meghalaya, two incubation centres are being set up for nurturing ideas. This will also give people an opportunity to share ideas, identify problems and come up with solutions to the existing problems

Shri. Barnari Mawlong
Director, Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship (MIE)

The Chief Minister’s E-Champion Challenge is a very unique programme as it is giving a platform for entrepreneurs both for individuals as well as groups in the State of Meghalaya. The programme will enable the youth to come up with innovative ideas in entrepreneurship field. This programme will help not only in spreading the spirit of entrepreneurship in the state but will also provide employment opportunities for the youth as well

Shri. Dikki D. Shira
Director, Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship (MIE)

The objective of this kind of initiative is primarily to create awareness, encourage the youth to come up with their business ideas, reward and recognize some promising entrepreneurs. This will help create a buzz on entrepreneurship in the state by creating some youth role models. To create the culture of entrepreneurship and change the mindset of the youth from a job seeker to job giver, all the stakeholders including media needs to play a very active role. Showcasing success stories of young entrepreneurs and creating visibility for this kind of transformational initiative contribute significantly to the cause
